Risk taking isn’t about putting ourselves out there and setting ourselves up for failure because the odds are against us. Nope, instead it’s more about putting ourselves in situations that may no necessarily be comfortable, most of the times we will learn as we go, because that is what it takes.

Not truly appreciating our success is very much like winning at the casino, we don’t respect that money, we blow it and we don’t think twice about it. Success only comes when we truly sacrifice time and energy into something that we have failed at many times before, and once we reach it, it’s oh so sweet.

I may be talented, educated and incredibly smart. My genius shines through as I plan and discuss my creative endeavours, and yet, unless I persevere through the failures, the many setbacks and the constant chatter of my friends and collages, I will not succeed. I will just be another talker, and not much else.

The only time we should be going through the day without a single instance of that specific feeling when we know that we are absolutely taking a risk on something is when we are on holiday. True success is built on taking risks, making smart bets and working our asses off. But yes, taking a break is just as important!

Nothing is ever the right time, and that is one of our biggest weaknesses. We need to start small, do a little, invest a little and build up interest. If we hate it, we stop, if we enjoy it, we double down. We are innovative beings by nature, and as time goes on there is so much we can do. A year is more time than we think!

We seem to know the inner workings of our lives, the effort that goes into everything we do, but we often forget that what’s on the surface is the easiest to see.

The person I am tomorrow will not be the person I am today, and as long as every day I learn something new I know that in a little while my dedication will eventually pay off. There are a tremendous amount of days in a lifetime, but we also must consider the tragedy of an unfulfilled life that ended too soon. We all have our days, I guess the question is how will we spend them.

The other day I was taking to a friend that had some truly amazing plans, really well thought-out and a big dream come true if successful. Of course the biggest thing he was afraid of was failure, and in many ways we are all terrified if the what ifs don’t go as planned.
