At the beginning of anything we set out to do, we are going to fail — way more — than win. It’s a learning experience, and we must never forget that each failure gives us a lot of feedback on how we can improve ourselves and our strategies. As for those sweet, sweet wins, we must celebrate them, because early on they may be some of the only motivational help we get.

How many people have you had passionate conversations with in the past year that expressed their dreams of success and yet took no action to turn them into reality? I bet there is at least one or two in every scenario. There is a point where talking about what you’re going to do is just part of the excitement, and yet that excitement wears off and the reality of actually having to work really fucking hard to get there kicks in. Without truly believing we can do it, action will never follow.

As the old adage goes, choose a job that you love to do, and you will never have to work a day in your life. Those of us who are lucky enough to be passionate about the things we do professionally are the ones that know how unbelievably incredible it feels to get paid for doing the things you would be willing to do for free.

Most of the time it can seem like the toughest of tasks to truly change the game, but for those of us who are determined — it’s really just time that stands in the way. Being patient, caring about and loving what we do is really all that’s needed for us to innovate the products we are so passionate about.

Let’s never forget that the world doesn’t know about our insecurities. It doesn’t know that we’re literally shit scared of taking those big risks. And because of that, therein lies our natural advantage. Each of us are holding our own cards, we know what they are — and we can have absolutely nothing, and yet can bluff our way into a win against even the best of hands.

Achieving success in life is all about taking risks! And when we take these risks with someone else, we’re essentially not in control of the outcome. Now, that’s a good thing when you want to diversify your success, but to reach it initially, the only person we can truly depend on — is ourselves!

Worshiping bathtubs full of cash, private jets, expensive super cars and 15,000 square foot beachfront mansions isn’t what successful people are all about. Starting from nothing, working our way up, eating shit, hustling for exposure and gaining the experience and humility to make a positive change to the world around us is what truly successful people strive towards.

Those that truly innovate are always the ones that are crazy enough to think outside the box. It is only at the moment that our plans start to work that people begin to realize the game changing concepts you have been working on. So it’s important to trust our gut first, because people don’t always know what they want until they see what’s on offer.

If you’re in the business of being in business, than you need to feel comfortable amongst failure. Failure is what shapes us, it’s the lessons we need to learn in order to thrive in a world of ruthless competition. So yes, having a high tolerance for eating shit and failing is going to help with reaching the goals most others would think are unattainable.

I’ve always wondered about the split. You know, the percentage of people calling themselves entrepreneurs and yet understanding that their endeavor will be a brutal grind fest as they walk a long road of hard work, dedication and perseverance — vs — the get rich quick approach where the world seemingly bends to their will, and everything they touch turns to gold. I guess the proverbial corpses along the way are the latter.
