I’ve fought many battles, have countless scars, and I remember my failures well. But what I am today is because of the things I survived yesterday. I wouldn’t trade my experience for anything. Success is really hard to achieve, it’s a journey comparable to a roller coaster ride, but lets be real here… once you try it, you can never go back!
It feels like for so many, including myself, the biggest factor that holds us back is fear. The fear of being disappointed, or the fear of failing at what I want so badly to succeed at. Luckily, fear can be beaten, and we can train ourselves to get over it and move forward!
There are dreamers, and then there are doers. But I think it’s important to be a bit of both if you want to make it as a successful entrepreneur. Realizing our dreams is really hard work, and if we ever want to succeed we must take steps towards making our dreams a reality.
If it’s complicated you simplify. Always innovating on ideas and never feeling comfortable with the way things are. Life moves so fast, technology even faster — we need to keep hustling just to stay ahead. I’ve always appreciated those who stay ahead of the curve, you are why innovation happens!
I admit, there are plenty of times that honest criticism has helped me make the right decisions, and that type of feedback is a huge benefit as we grow and evolve. However, there is also the type of criticism that isn’t meant to be constructive, instead it’s meant to put you down. This is the stuff that needs to be tossed in the ignore pile — permanently.
Sometimes it feels impossibly difficult to unshackle ourselves from our predicaments. There is just so much responsibility, so little time, and so many excuses not to pursue what we want in life. What if I told you that’s just the first problem out of many you need to solve?
I’m willing to bet that there is not a single person out there that started out with a plan and has not had to change it as they worked towards their success. Change is the currency of entrepreneurship, it is what sets apart the new from the old, the disruptors, and the game changers from the decrepid industries of yesterday.
We’re all terrified of failing at the things we love to do, but without failure, we cannot improve. Truly successful people aren’t the ones who kept on winning, but those who stepped out of their comfort zone and learned to win from the failures of the past.
