We all secretly want to be more confident, be it at the work we do, or the interactions we are a part of — the end game is to succeed, and confidence can play a bit part. So, while most just wish they were, some of us put our head down and work on our passion, because once we are confident there, everywhere else becomes second nature.

Aretha Franklin made an amazing point, it’s silly for ourselves to even consider being artists if we’re not confident in our craft. Confidence is the key to success, we cannot be brave without being confident first, so as we remember Aretha, we must also remember that to build up confidence, we need to do our fair share of the scary stuff.

Daily Reflection: Wednesday, August 15th, 2018

It’s fascinating to think about everyone who ever thought about taking a big risk, but instead deciding against it because they were terrified that failure was the likely outcome. The reality is — the few — that do against all odds take the big risk, are not risking failure, but are opening up to the opportunity of learning. Nothing beats learning on your own skin, no book or classroom in the world can teach that.
