Happy Friday everyone!
Welcome to another weekly round-up post from our growing community of bloggers, writers, vloggers, podcasters, and other fellow creatives. In short, each and every week we hand-pick five top posts from a pool of the highest voted user-submitted/created posts in the community and include them in this weekly round-up blog post, along with the newsletter for all of our e-mail subscribers. As per our submission rules, posts shared can not be older than 30 days, meaning that all of the following are fresh and recent!
Here are this week’s (Mar 9 – Mar 15, 2019) most valuable posts from the /t/BES content creators community:
1. The Internet Lottery™ for Content Creators
Your cursor hovers over the post button. This will be the one. You researched it, you checked it, you got the graphics, and you have the audience. Today you’ll have that successful post: thousands of views.
2. Focus on Progress, Not Perfection
Progression keeps you going. Think about hiking up a mountain and looking down when you’re halfway up to see how far you have come: you know you aren’t at the top, but it’s still better than being at the bottom.
3. These Cookie Warning Shenanigans Have Got to Stop
Do we really want to continue chucking up cookie warnings to everyone and somehow expecting them to make an informed decision about the risks they present? 99% of people are going to click through them anyway.
4. Google Plus Shuffles off its Mortal Coil: Have You Un-Googled?
The online world is unforgiving of the out-of-date, so we have to take the time to remove the Google+ links. I’m constantly running into bios I haven’t de-Googled yet, but I know I need to get them all done before April 2nd.
5. 13 Tips for the Work-at-Home Author
Many people who write for a living work at home. I’ve been self-employed for quite a long time, and sometimes I had a space to work that I rented, but mostly I’ve been lucky enough to have room in my home to set up an office.
That’s all folks! You can view all the rest of the community’s top submissions (9 more) here.
Be sure to tune in next Friday for another great weekend reading list that will make you a better and more informed blogger, writer, and/or content creator! If you have anything awesome to submit that others might enjoy, feel free to do so!
And don’t forget to help other fellow creatives find this nifty resource by sharing it around! Thanks!
